The Story Behind the Anchor

Ever since I was young and searching the world for Carmen Sandiego, and finding her, I have had a passion for travel.

I remember being in my early teens, seeing beautiful places around the world, and wanting to experience them for myself.

Much of my travel before having children centered around tropical destinations and scuba diving. I have explored Aruba, Belize, Oahu, Maui, Grand Cayman, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, and Mexico, both on land and beneath the surface.

Along the way, I have gone diving with whale sharks and great white sharks, and spent time ziplining and riding ATVs alongside sloths and howler monkeys.

For much of my professional career, I worked in sales. I loved connecting with clients, understanding what mattered to them, and finding solutions that worked well for everyone involved.

As a trailing spouse, however, every move meant starting over professionally.

Through all of those relocations, one thing remained constant: I loved planning vacations for myself, my family, and the people around me.

While some people feel overwhelmed by travel logistics, I genuinely enjoy the research.

I am the person who happily studies cruise ship deck plans, keeps track of dining windows, compares resorts and staterooms, and works through the details that can make a vacation feel easier and more enjoyable.

After years of planning trips and hearing friends and family say, “You really should do something with this,” I finally decided to take the leap.

That is how Anchor and Shore Travel was born.

Now, as a parent of two, much of my travel planning centers on family-friendly vacations, especially cruises and Disney destinations.

The name Anchor and Shore reflects the balance I look for when planning a trip.

The Shore represents the excitement of discovering new places and creating new memories.

The Anchor represents the planning, preparation, and support that help you feel informed, organized, and able to enjoy the experience.

I know every traveler approaches planning differently.

Some people enjoy researching every detail and simply want help securing the booking and reviewing available promotions.

Others want more guidance along the way.

I am happy to meet you wherever you are in the planning process.

My goal is to help make your trip feel less overwhelming, more organized, and more enjoyable from the first conversation through travel.
